Sweet or Savory Killer Texas Trash

Whether you like it sweet and spicy or salty and spicy we know how to make this Texas favorite better with Killer Pecans.  Some call it addictive, some call it crack we call it delicious!

Killer and Cinnamon Pecan Sweet Texas Trash

INGREDIENTS
12 oz or 3 sticks of butter
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
6 oz Wheat Chex cereal
6 oz Rice Chex cereal
1 cup Killer Pecans (4 oz bag)
1 cup Cinnamon Pecans (4 oz bag)
1 cup Chocolate Dynamite (5 oz bag) optional

PREPARATION
1.  Pre-heat the oven to 325° F.  Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil and spray generously with pan spray.
2.  Put the cereals, Cinnamon Pecans and Killer Pecans in a bowl and set aside.  Melt butter and brown sugar in a small sauce pan and boil for 2 minutes.
3.  Pour caramel mixture over the cereals and Pecans, mix until coated.  Spread on a sheet pan and bake for 8-10 minutes.
4.  Remove from the oven and cool completely.  Mix in Chocolate Dynamite if you're feeling fancy!  Serve immediately or keep in an air tight container........maybe consider putting a lock on or hiding it from the rest of the family!

 

Savory Killer Texas Trash

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 tsp. granulated garlic
1/4 tsp. granulated onion
1 Tbl. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 Tbl. Tabasco sauce
1 cup plain Cheerios cereal
2 cups Wheat Chex cereal
2 cups Corn Chex cereal
2 cups Rice Chex cereal
1 cup pretzels
1 cup Killer Pecans (4 oz bag)
1 cup Smokin' Pecans (4 oz bag)

PREPARATION
1.  Pre-heat oven to 250° F.
2.  Mix butter, granulated garlic, granulated onion, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper and Tabasco sauce, set aside.
3.  Mix all the cereals and pretzels in a bowl.
4.  Pour the butter and seasoning mixture over the cereal and mix until evenly coated.  Spread the mixture evenly on a sheet tray.  Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring every 15-20 minutes.
5.  Remove from the oven, cool down, add Killer and Smokin' Pecans.  Impress your friends immediately or put in an and air tight container and impress them later.
